Due to many years of stomach issues I am debating whether this whole gluten free rave that is going around might actually be beneficial to me. This is incredibly sad to me though and would be such a bittersweet feeling if I found gluten to be the cause of my problems…
It is hard for me to even think about giving up gluten but I am willing to try it. The biggest problem is that I love to bake. I know that going gluten free doesn’t mean I can’t bake anymore, I will just have to get more creative…it is almost like going vegetarian in the grain world. Anyone else have any gluten free success stories? Or Gluten free baking recipes?
No I don't have any, sometimes I have been accused of being a gluten for punishment.
ReplyDeleteMy mother went on a gluten free diet right around the time I was 14. Only she was a horrible cook to begin with. I think it should be super easy for you since most of the stuff you cook is vegetarian/vegan anyway. And you are super creative with your meals. I can't wait to see some recepies!
ReplyDeleteMy sister-in-law just went gluten free for her family and it's been a challenge but i highly reccomend the BabyCakes cookbook, all the recipes are gluten/vegan/sugar free! they are an awesome bakery in NYC. Oh and i also gave you a blog award! check it out here: http://angelamuir.blogspot.com/2010/03/sugar-doll-award.html
ReplyDeleteDid you try going gluten free? How did it go?
ReplyDeleteI have been trying on and off for the past year or so, but it's too hard for me.
My grandma and my aunt both have Celiac disease, so sometimes I wonder if my tummy upsets are linked to gluten as well.
